Senior Pastor Donald Preston and Sister Diana

Pastor and Sister Preston have been in Pastoral Ministry since 1980. This included pastoral work in churches in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. They have two daughters and 5 grandchildren. They came to Hancock Assembly of  God on January 4, 2007, after ministering for 16 ½ years at a church in West Virginia.         

 A word from Pastor Preston 

       I want to take this opportunity to thank you for visiting our church website. It is with a grateful heart that my wife and I have been called to serve this wonderful congregation here in Hancock, Maryland. We celebrate the rich history of their past as well as the possibilities of today and the wonderful potential of our future.       I believe our Mission Statement can be summed up with the 10^th Statement found in our 16 Tenants of Faith, where it states: “That our priority reason for being of the Assemblies of God as a part of the Church is: 1) To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16).  2) To be a corporate or unified body in which man may worship God (1 Corinthians 12:13) and 3) To be a channel of God’s purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son (Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Corinthians 12:28, 14:12).”        

   May the Lord lead and guide you into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, that when the trumpet sounds, or when death comes, you will be able to hear Him say; “Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord.”

July 31, 2010 Pastor Preston Celebrates 30 years of ministry

The Sunday School crowd was on hand to help Pastor Preston and Sister Diana celebrate 30 years of ministry. Thirty years ago today Pastor Preston stood with other prospective ministers, nervously waiting for his credentialling interview with the Assembly of God's Potomac District. Brother Sprohl helped calm his nerves by telling them that nobody was there to try to keep them out of the ministry but to help them into the ministry. There is no doubt,  here at Hancock A/G we are glad they did. Appreciation for Pastor Preston's ministry was poured out as person after person testified about their love and appreciation for Pastor and his wife. Pastor Smith wrapped it up by expressing his own personal appreciation for Pastor Preston and having the board pray for their continued success. Congratulations Pastor!
